As early as 3000 BC, we made a system of irrigation began here in Persia called the qanat, also spelled quanat. Culture
There is a strong importance of family and clan relationships and we have a nomadic society. Free classes are the heart of a Persian society. In the cities some common jobs are artisans, craftsmen, merchants, civil servants. In the countryside the common jobs are peasants, some of whom are building underground canals (qanat)
Religion
Our main religion is Zoroastrianism which comes from the teachings of Zarathustra. Ahura Mazda is the supreme diety and we beleive in a heavenly paradise or a hellish realm as forms of reward and punishment. Zoroastrianism influences Judaism, Christianity, and later, Islam. Buddhism, Christianity, Manichaeism, Judaism also here in Persia

Blog 1: We are the main ethnic group of Iran and are the majority and dominant ethnic group of Iran. We also inhabit neighboring countries particularly in Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan. However, in these countries we are usually thought of as sub-groups. Blog 2: We are descendents of the Aryan tribes that began migrating from Central Asia into what is now Iran in the second millennium BC. Our Persian language and other Iranian tongues emerge as these Aryan tribes split up into two major groups, the Persians and the Medes, and intermarry with peoples indigenous to the Iranian plateau such as the Elamites. Blog 3: Our artistic expression can be seen as far back as the Achaemenid period as numerous statues depicting various important figures, usually of political significance as well as religious, such as the Immortals (elite troops of the emperor) are indicative of the influence of Mesopotamia and ancient Babylon.
